Hi I'm Eli, a mixed-media artist and storyteller most commonly known as  RedWetSkeleton.  My goal is to create a safe and inclusive space for those who want to learn more about the art of storytelling as well as how I create everything I use for the stories I tell, typically these take form of miniatures.  I began working towards achieving this in March after ending my 15 year stay in the world of Corporate America.  The initial phase being the "Morning Hobby Hang", a two hour live stream Monday through Friday on youtube.  I strive for it to be a transparently honest and open invitation for anyone wanting to see what I am currently working on, where they feel comfortable to pose questions, or just hangout and chat about topics related to my work or thing I enjoy or recommend.  I truly want to be the change I want to see in our world and I firmly believe that starts with trust which can only be gained with true transparency and seeing others as people not decimals.  To that end I strive to make sure my integrity and passion is never at question, my opinions, recommendations, and concience are not now or ever will be for sale.  This will ALWAYS be free to EVERYONE as I truly believe it is an important thing that our community needs, someone who truly cares and is there.  This belief has been reinforced by having seen it already help not only myself but others with things that I do not think are discussed enough in our very often insular community.

So what's "The Grim Dark Distillery"?

The "Morning Hobby Hang" is just that, a place to hangout and show what I am working on, it is only the beginning of the overall concept.  "The Grim Dark Distillery" is the overarching title I have given to what I feel is a truly massive undertaking that I feel compelled to work on.  I want to build the community we deserve.  I have acquired all of the tools needed, at this point I simply need time to learn how to use them fully and use them. Your support here will allow me to focus my time on the following.

  • First and foremost time to edit sections of the Morning Hobby Hang into easier to navigate and understand high quality videos regarding any topics, techniques, etc that I or others believe are beneficial.
  • Podcasts, two are currently in the works but I have many other ideas in mind.  The first being "Asking Strangers If They Are Ticklish" (ASITAT) a Tabletop Gaming "Bullshittery" podcast with my dear friend Sam.  I hope for it to be a broad focus on Tabletop Gaming in general, like a conversation explaining concepts and ideas that I believe are key to building a quality gaming community, gaming group, and full of information others need to start their first steps into our hobby.  The second, "Wizard Cousin" with my partner in chaos Jonny who most people know his work by the name WitchHammerStudio.  The focus of this will be more akin to listening to two artistically chaotic goblins discuss their often unusual methods and techniques with one another and dicussing the "how's and why's" of the art of creating miniatures and our compulsion to never rest in our pursuit of pushing our art further.
  • Gameplay Videos.  High Quality videos that highlight the style of gaming seen in the large narrative events my friends in the 28 Community and I have worked on over the years.  Given the amount of time and work that goes into into all of these events and the sheer amount of people required to see them to fruition, it is truly impossible to have the incredibly vast number interested in joining physically be around the table to experience. I want to fix that, I cannot make the game function smoothly with thousands of people but I can show you the shared vision we aim to create and present the story in a much more cinematic experience to attempt to capture what the spirit of these events are all about.  I firmly believe this is the only way to properly explain how these games work and how the blending of Tabletop Gaming, Story Telling, and Creativity push them to be the awe inspiring and utterly unique collaborations between the community that they are.
  • Content for games I love presented in a manner I consider up to the standard of "The Grim Dark Distillery".  I truly strive to make no compromises in my art, be it in my miniature work or in how I craft the story behind the games we play.  Support here allows me to spend the time needed to do this and the ability to present content I have created in a form I feel is worthy of my passion and community.  Rules, Expansions, Campaigns, and even entire gaming ecosystems in the future.
  • Music.  I have always loved creating music and am proud to have some of my work used by legendary members of the community already.  I want to make music that everyone can use for their games to raise the level of immersion.
  • Events.  I fully intend to bring more events to the gaming community wether they be at already existing conventions or self contained happenings themelves.

Thank you for your time, it is truly your most valuable commodity and it means the world to me that you are willing to share it with me.
